Photo tips: shoot straight on, fill the frame with the gel, avoid reflections from the light box, and keep the camera parallel to the gel.
Drag on the image to draw the region to keep, then move or resize it with the handles. Straighten first so lanes run vertically.
These settings change how the gel looks on screen and in the exported figure. Band detection and densitometry always use the raw pixel values.
Click on the gel to add a lane, drag a lane to move it. Lanes are numbered left to right automatically.
Detect bands in every lane, then fix the result by hand: click inside a lane to add a band (it snaps to the nearest peak), drag a band to move it, press Delete to remove the selected one.
Background-subtracted intensity from top (left) to bottom (right) of the selected lane. Dots are marked bands.
Choose the ladder lane and the ladder used. Sizes are assigned to its bands from top to bottom; correct any band in the table.
Preset sizes follow the manufacturers' datasheets; check them against your lot.
Estimated sizes come from the marker calibration; relative intensity is each band's share of the total band signal in its lane. Values marked * fall outside the marker range.
